Accommodation and Travel

Welcome to Belfast, Northern Ireland

Belfast or ‘Béal Féirste’ is a relatively young city, over 400 years old and is the capital of Northern Ireland.  A port city, Belfast made its wealth from the shipbuilding and rope making industries and the production and export of Irish Linen throughout the world.

Today it is a bustling and vibrant Victorian city with a cultural and historical heritage of great depth and richness.  The city possesses many fine examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, first class museums and galleries, beautiful parks and gardens, excellent shopping and of course a legendary nightlife ranging from classical entertainment to traditional music in ‘genuine’ Irish pubs.

Belfast and locations around Northern Ireland have also become known for TV and film making.  Belfast is home to Titanic Studios where Game of Thrones is shot, and only a stone’s throw away from other filming locations across Northern Ireland including The King's Road, Winterfell, The Wall and Dragonstone. Take a tour around Northern Ireland and discover the dramatic scenery used in the show.

Belfast named in top 5 of the UKs best city break destinations - Trip Advisor's Traveller's Choice Awards (2014)
